Hi! I’m Shani and I have a serious love for baking!
Some people meditate or run to find their peace of mind. I bake!
As a little girl I watched my grandmother bake. The sweet aroma of her freshly baked sweet chocolate yeast cakes still lingers in my memory. When I became a mother, I wanted to surround my children with the fragrance and warmth of baked goods. Our kitchen became our family’s gathering place. My teenage son lets me see glimpses of his world as he samples a new dessert I’ve been experimenting with, my middle son’s favorite macaroons are always by his side as he does his school work at the kitchen table, my older daughter will happily share her day with me over chocolate chip cookies and milk, and the youngest is just happy to be surrounded by the cheer and chatter – and of course by my donuts and meringues.
I love everything about baking. I marvel at the way in which the different ingredients mix to transform into something delicious and beautiful. I always use the freshest and highest quality!
I delight in the feel of smooth dough in my hands. I can get lost laminating dough and rejoice at the resulting butter layers.
Baking is an art and, like other artists, I want to share my creations with others. After years of obsessive home baking for my family and friends, Shani’s Sweets was born!
Sharing something that was made with love and watching a person light up with a blissful smile after taking a bite out of my baked goods is the best feeling in the world. I look forward to sharing my baked goods with all of you!
